Loneliness is a Bright Screen (A Poem)
What am I looking for, bright screen?
Melt my time away.
Hours passed grazing everyone’s surface.
After looking at so many shells, I feel hollow.
Kindness makes me ache.
The way a small morsel of food can ignite my hunger,
So does the genuine smile you give.
I want warm faces and soft bodies,
The silk of skin against my fingertips.
Not these glowing renditions.
Had to tweet this; it’s so good.
You captured the moment so well!
Thanks for this
I’m putting this on my timeline.
Thanks for sharing my poem with others, Don 🙂
Well said. I found myself thinking something quite similar the other day.
Glad you can relate, Devorah 😉
This is touching and so familiar, Molly. I think many of us in this day and age have felt this. I admire how you’ve made this painful “alone together” experience so beautiful.
Thank you, Vironika! Comments like yours seem to make the bright screen less lonesome 😉
